Introduce yourself
My name is Emily Knott and I’m the kinda girl who 'pops' into Boots with every intention of purchasing just paracetamol, but walks out with fifty pounds worth of beauty products - sound familiar? And I’m the blogger/writer/author/editor behind British Beauty Addict, a small corner of the internet where I’ve combined my love for writing and beauty products for a little over five years.

Dislikes: unblended eyeshadow, eggs (unless in cake) and unpainted toenails.
What inspired you to start your blog?
I set up BBA in 2013 after finding myself reading other beauty blogs and thinking ‘I could do that’ and soon enough I published my first post. In the beginning my blog was the perfect way to demonstrate my love for beauty products and my journalistic skills, as at the time I was studying Broadcast Journalism at University. But fast forward a few years, I’m still here typing away, as my enthusiasm to find the best in beauty has not wavered.Have you always enjoyed writing?
During school years, I struggled with the learning disorder dyslexia and I often felt it held me back. But despite this, I would always find myself writing, whether it was poetry, short stories, or just expressing how I felt at the time. In fact, I own over 5 diaries, one of which even dates back to the year 2000 and a couple of them, I have written in religiously for a whole year - mainly about who I'd kissed in the school playground, but still...How do you decide what to write about?
Foremost BBA is a destination for all things beauty, but I like to throw a little something different into the mix every now and then. But I always blog about things I know and love and like to push the boundaries and do something different. So far what’s the highlight of your blogging career?
Blogging has given me many amazing opportunities; in 2015 BBA was shortlisted for 'Best for Beauty' in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards and in 2016 BBA was a finalist for the UK Beauty Blogger Awards. Not a week goes by where I don’t feel thankful and as cliché as it sounds, the beauty blogging community have become my second family and I’ll forever be grateful for the friends I’ve made.Is blogging your full time job?
For the last two years I've been primarily focused on my career as a digital journalist, writing weekly beauty features and shoppable content pieces for Metro.co.uk and MailOnline.metro.co.uk/author/emily-knott/

What’s one piece of advice you have to give for other bloggers?
Relax. I’ve found taking a laid back approach to blogging and cutting myself some slack has helped me avoid self-pressure and the dreaded 'blogger burnout'.What’s your top beauty tip?
Keep your skincare regime simple, listen to your skin and invest in makeup brushes – they do all the hard work for you.Tell us your likes and dislikes…
