Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation | Review
Foundation. I have enough bottles of the stuff to cover my entire body and then some. And while over the summer months I've been gravitating towards lightweight, barely there bases, one new release has quickly become a favourite having lasted until after-work drinks (tested, on multiple occasions). The foundation in question is Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation, a full coverage, almost weightless foundation with the added bonus of SPF.
Its formulation is laced with Eternalsoft Polymer which allows increased comfort level with ultra‑long wear, NAI pigments that maintain consistent pH level with skin, so colour stays true all day and Perlite and Silica two of the most effective oil‑absorbing ingredients. Lancôme claims its best-selling Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation has 'great staying power and allows you to go out and be your best without needing to retouch on the go. And is transfer free and smudge free, giving you confidence to carry on with your day and maximise your power' and I can confirm that this stuff is legit.
To apply I moisturise, then buff, buff, buff with my It Cosmetics Heavenly Skin Brush and one layer instantly evens out redness, discolouration and covers blemishes. Its finish isn't too dissimilar to NARS Sheer Glow, a velvety matte and similarly has an extensive shade range (40 shades) ranging from Beige Ivoire to Ebene. It isn't as glow inducing as my fave It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream SPF50+, or Make Up For Ever's Water Blend Foundation, so I like to whack on one of my favourite illuminating primers to help create a glow from underneath when my skin is looking a little dull.
The shade (010) I can rely on every time, it works when I'm both pale and when I have a slight tan, as I like to pair it with By Terry Cellularose Brightening CC Serum in Sunny Flash, a beautiful bronzed toned serum that grants my paler skin a sun-kissed glow that ever-so-slightly darkens my foundation.
It's by far the best long-wear foundation I own. It actually works. Staying on for a full day's wear without the need to retouch, seeing me through to happy hour and late night dinner dates, not to mention sweat and humidity. I have combination skin and don't tend to set with powder, but if you have oily skin I suggest setting it with a bit of loose powder for added longevity.
If you're looking for a long-wear, full-face look Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation £31.50 will give you that always-flawless finish you're after.
