Cream Of The Crop | Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream
I’ll try to keep things short and sweet, but forewarning you, this may be a lengthy love letter. Now I don’t know about you, but during the winter months I very rarely use skincare past my collarbone (awful, I know), but June saw a major heatwave with blistering sunshine and in short, my legs weren’t ready to see the light of day. Introducing Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream the body cream that’s inspired by the Brazilian’s favourite feature - their derrières and currently residing in every beauty editors bathroom cabinets. I can’t remember the last time a body cream caused such a stir. I was skeptical at first, as a pert derrière doesn’t come cheap, priced from £18 for 75ml. But(t) I couldn’t wait to try it and revive my limbs.
The whipped cream is contained in a fun bright tangerine and white tub with the words "Love It. Flaunt It. You've Got This," written on the lid - sassy. It’s formulated with caffeine-rich Guarana to stimulate circulation, lift and tighten and Capuacu Butter, Acai, and Coconut Oil deeply nourish and soften the skin. The first thing that got me hooked is the scent. It’s out-of-this-world. It’s topical and coconut-y due to its blend of pistachio, caramel and coconut. It may not be for everyone, including eczema suffers and those who find fragrance irritates their skin. But I LOVE the edible scent. It’s addictive and lasts on the skin all day. And that’s not even the best part…
I massage the cream into my glutes every evening and although it’s recommended for your butt, I can’t help but apply it all over my arms and stomach. Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream has an ultra-silky texture, soaking in super-fast without leaving a greasy or oily residue on the skin – win, win. It isn’t as intensely hydrating as the likes of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, but it’s a great match for my dry skin. After one use, the effects were noticeable, my dry lizard like skin was immediately softened and it sparkled thanks to its discrete shimmer. After a week, I was surprised to see an improvement in tightness, moisture and dimples in my skin. It’s also greatly reduced stretch-marks and scars. My first thoughts were “Jeez, I really need another tub of this” and then just like magic Cult Beauty were offering a free 75ml tub of Bum Bum Cream when you spent over £30 on Sol de Janeiro. Sold. I’m now on my second jar and I very rarely finish body products, but when I do you know it’s stellar. I cannot get enough.
Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream isn’t going to give your backside a Brazilian bum lift and I agree it has a price tag fit for the very few. But it makes me look and feel good. It’s also nice to see visible results from a body product. In fact, its skin-boosting benefits are what makes Sol de Janeiro's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream the cream of the crop as it doesn’t merely pamper. It’s pure luxury, but splurge-worthy.
