Concealer is a beauty bag hero; covering blemishes, dark circles and discolouration, concealers help to achieve a flawless complexion. And today I'm sharing my top 3, tried and tested go-to concealers...
A relatively new addition to my concealer line up
is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer. The
UD concealer applies with a flat double-sided doe foot applicator and
melts into the skin with both my fingers, or damp Real Techniques Complexion
Sponge. The formula is rich yet lightweight offering buildable full
coverage with a demi-matte finish. It works well under the eyes and face. It
has incredible lasting power, more so than any other concealer I have
tried and doesn't settle into fine lines and the price ain't all
that bad either. No wonder it's beloved by beauty insiders.
This concealer from Benefit
has been a go-to for a long old time and has been a lifesaver come Monday
mornings. I'm surprised I don't hear more about it! The small pink pot encases
a thick, creamy, opaque, peach undertoned concealer perfect
for counteracting dark circles. The concealer is paired with
a pointless spatula and the biggest mistake you can make is applying
too much. Only a small amount is needed, otherwise it will crease like crazy,
look cakey, slide all over the place and cause your eye makeup to smudge!
Benefit Erase Paste has a satin finish due to its creamy texture and has great
illuminating properties. It lasts for a good 5 hours and
I personally don't set this concealer with powder unless I use a lot
of product, as it can look a little greasy. But I wouldn't be
without it!
If you're looking for a
versatile, quick and effective concealer, the Clarins Instant Concealer might
be your match. The lightweight liquid concealer contains light-bluring pigments that optically blur dark circles. It
also contains both caffeine extract to help the under eye area appear less puffy
and aloe vera to help soften the skin. Not only does it work well under the
eyes, it also conceals areas of discolouration helping to restore natural tone,
meaning it can be worn all over the face for those 'no-makeup, makeup'
kinda days. The Clarins Instant Concealer provides a decent amount of
coverage (medium) due to it’s rich pigmentation which is pretty darn amazing
considering its fluid like texture and leaves a subtle glow on the
skin.
